Mission
Canastota Little League Mission Statement. The objective of the Local League shall be to implant firmly in the children of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority, so that they may be well adjusted, stronger and happier children and will grow to be good, decent, healthy and trustworthy citizens.
Offered Programs
T-Ball (Fireflies):
Tee Ball Baseball is for boys and girls 4- 5 years old who want to learn the fundamentals
of hitting and fielding. The primary goal of Tee Ball is to instruct children in the
fundamentals of baseball. Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved
in this introduction level of Little League.

Coaches Pitch:
Coaches Pitch League Baseball is for boys and girls 5-6 years old.
In the Coaches Pitch Division, the objective is to build team-skills, fundamentals,
understanding of the game and develop personal skills. More emphasis is placed on hitting techniques than in the T-Ball division.

Minor Baseball Division:
Minor League Baseball program for younger players in preparation of selection for
Majors Division and utilizes a 46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths.
This level of play is player-pitch, enhance fundamentals and understanding of the game,
live play. The Minor league division will be structured for league ages 7-10 year old
players (based on skill). All participants in this age range are required to attend
evaluations prior to season play.

Major Baseball Division:
The Major Baseball Division utilizes a 46-foot pitching distance and 60-ft base paths.
This division will be structured for league age 9-12 year old players (based on skill).
Competitive level of play. Preparation for Senior Ball and the High School level. All
participants in this age range are required to attend evaluations prior to season play.

Minor Softball Division:
The Minor Softball division is for girls league age 7-10 and uses a 60-ft diamond and
a 35 foot pitching distance. Emphasis on the fundamentals, understanding of the
game, live play, player-pitch, and enhancement of personal skills. Preparation for the
Major level of play. All participants in this age range are required to attend evaluations
prior to season play.
Major Softball Division:
The Majors Softball Division is for players league age 9-12 (based on skill). The field
uses a 60-foot diamond and a 40 foot pitching distance. Competitive level with an
emphasis to prepare for the Senior or High School level of play. All participants in this
age range are required to attend evaluations prior to season play.

Senior League Baseball and Softball Divisions:
The Senior League Baseball and Softball division is for boys and girls league age 12-16.

All Divisions of play emphasize on fundamentals, game structure, knowledge and understanding of the game, enhancement of personal skills, Sportsmanship,
Team work, Respect, Responsibility, but most of all the Love of the Game and to have fun!
